China hosts historic robot football match
The landmark ROBO League tournament took place in Beijing, where for the first time in China, a full-fledged football competition between teams of autonomous robots in a 3-on-3 format was held. In the final match, the THU Robotics team from Tsinghua University defeated Mountain Sea from China Agricultural University with a score of 5:3, demonstrating impressive progress in the field of robotics.

The competition became an important milestone in preparation for the upcoming World Robot Games in 2025 and demonstrated both the achievements and current limitations of the technology. Despite frequent collisions and difficulties in avoiding obstacles, the organizers had to adapt the rules, allowing "unintentional" contacts between machines. The main breakthrough was the full autonomy of the robots - they moved independently at a speed of up to 1 meter per second, maintained balance and even rose from falls without external intervention.

Booster Robotics founder Cheng Hao noted that the current level of robot play is comparable to that of five-year-old children, but the technology is developing exponentially. The organizers have already announced plans to create a series of similar competitions that should accelerate the implementation of advanced developments in real areas of application - from industry to services. This match was not just a technical demonstration, but an important step towards the integration of humanoid robots into everyday life.
