Leak Reveals Details of Toxic Commando, a Horror Shooter Starring John Carpenter
Details and screenshots of the upcoming online shooter Toxic Commando have become public knowledge ahead of the planned announcement. The project is being developed by Saber Interactive, known for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, with the creative participation of cult director John Carpenter. The game's plot tells the story of a team of incompetent mercenaries confronting hordes of mutated creatures created by an awakened ancient deity.
The gameplay combines elements of Left 4 Dead and Helldivers 2 - instead of a linear passage, players will have to capture and clear zones on the map, using armored vehicles with a limited supply of fuel. Between missions, it will be possible to improve equipment and pump up characters at the base. Inspired by horror action films of the 80s, the project promises an authentic atmosphere thanks to the participation of Carpenter, but the leaked screenshots have caused skepticism regarding the visual execution of the game.

Scheduled for release this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, the question remains whether the game can stand out in the crowded games-as-a-service market, despite its star-studded credits and unusual concept.
