Tesla Cybertruck Sales Halve in a Year
According to research company Kelley Blue Book, demand for the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck has fallen significantly over the past year. In the second quarter of 2025, only 4,306 units of this model were sold, while in the same period in 2024, the figure was 8,755 cars. Thus, the drop in sales reached 50.8%, which was worse than analysts' forecasts, who expected a result of 5,000-6,000 cars sold.

These figures also differ greatly from the ambitious plans of Elon Musk, who in 2023 announced his intention to produce 250,000 Cybertrucks annually. However, in the 14 months since the start of production, the company was able to deliver only 46,096 electric pickups to the market.

In addition to declining demand, the model faced a number of other problems. In May, Tesla abandoned a version with an extended battery for $ 16,000, which was supposed to increase the range to 700 km. According to some reports, this decision is due to insufficient interest from buyers.

Earlier in December 2024, Cybertruck production was suspended due to concerns about a further decline in sales. In January, Business Insider sources reported that some workers were transferred from the pickup assembly line to the production of the more popular Model Y. In addition, in May, information appeared about an increase in the number of unsold Cybertrucks, and when exchanging a one-year-old car with a mileage of 10,000 km, Tesla offered a price for it 34% lower than the original.
