PlayStation 5 to Get Power-Saving Mode at the Cost of Performance

Sony is preparing an unusual update for its PlayStation 5 console, which will add a special power-saving mode. This feature, initially available only to beta testers, will reduce the system's power consumption by reducing performance in games. When the mode is activated, users will experience a reduced frame rate and limited functionality, including degraded VR modes. It is important to note that power saving will only work in those games that receive appropriate support from developers.



At the same time, Sony introduced an update for DualSense controllers, expanding their compatibility with various devices. Now the gamepad can be simultaneously connected to four different gadgets, including PCs and devices with Remote Play support, with the ability to quickly switch between them directly from the controller. This innovation will greatly simplify the process of using DualSense on different platforms without the need for re-pairing.
