God of War Showrunner Admits He Has Little Knowledge of the Game
Ronald D. Moore, the showrunner responsible for creating the God of War TV adaptation, has revealed details of his familiarity with the source material. It turns out that the showrunner limited himself to watching edited cutscenes, never mastering the gameplay. Moore attributed this to a lack of necessary skills related to modern control systems, although he emphasized his rich experience playing arcade machines of the past era.

Despite this, the creator of the series expressed admiration for the narrative elements of the game, especially highlighting the dynamic of the relationship between Kratos and Atreus. Moore promised to preserve this key component in the TV version, which is currently in the script development stage. Production of the first season of ten episodes is planned to begin no earlier than 2026.
