Neural Network Recreates GTA: Vice City in the Aesthetics of the Iconic 1980s Action Movies
A creative experiment from the YouTube channel Analog AI demonstrated what a film adaptation of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City could look like, made in the spirit of classic action films from the heyday of the franchise. With the help of artificial intelligence, key characters of the cult game were visualized - from the main character Tommy Vercetti to the eccentric lawyer Ken Rosenberg and the charismatic Lance Vance. Particular attention was paid to the antagonists: drug lord Ricardo Diaz, crime boss Sonny Forelli and the mysterious Mercedes Cortez.
The generated images masterfully convey the atmosphere of retro action films with a characteristic color palette, grainy film and visual effects typical of the 1980s. Each character received a unique stylization corresponding to both the original game image and the Hollywood canons of the genre of that period.
