GTA 6 PC version may not be released until 2027-2028

According to insider Millie Amand, known under the nickname Millie A, the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC will take place no earlier than the end of 2027, and possibly in the spring of 2028. This information appeared in the comments to her post about the possible postponement of the console version of the game to September 2026. Previously, the insider has repeatedly shared reliable information, including leaks about Marvel's Wolverine before the official announcement.

Officially, Rockstar Games only confirmed the release of GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but indirect signs indicate that work on the PC version is already underway. Mentions of development for the PC platform were found in the resumes of Rockstar Lead Product Manager Mackenzie Elliott and RAGE engine programmer Ryan Woods.

Opinions on the difficulty of porting the game to computers are divided. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has said that the adaptation will be easy, while former Rockstar North CTO Obbe Vermeij has a different view. According to him, the studio traditionally releases PC versions later than console ones to ensure that each platform receives the attention it deserves and to avoid overloading the developers.
