Galaxy Z Flip7 Survives Extreme Durability Tests
Famous smartphone tester Zach Nelson, host of the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, conducted a series of tough tests of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 foldable device. During the tests, the gadget was exposed to sharp objects, open fire, sand and mechanical stress to check its real durability.
The smartphone's outer screen with a protective Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating showed good scratch resistance - the first damage appeared only upon contact with a tool with a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale. The open fire test also failed to seriously damage the display - after 12 seconds of exposure to a lighter flame, there were no visible defects left on the screen.
The flexible inner screen demonstrated less resistance - its surface was scratched even with a fingernail, and 15 seconds of exposure to fire left noticeable marks. When testing the hinge mechanism for resistance to sand, the device began to make a characteristic crunch when folding, but continued to function properly. The Galaxy Z Flip7 passed the final reverse bend test without damage. Following all the tests, Nelson noted that despite the vulnerability of the flexible screen, the smartphone overall proved itself to be a reliable and durable device.
