iPhones are getting ready for a revolutionary screen upgrade

According to The Elec, Apple is planning to seriously upgrade the displays in the upcoming iPhone models. The main change will be the transition to Tandem OLED technology, which will achieve higher brightness, accurate color rendering and improved energy efficiency. The new panels, called Ultra Retina XDR, are being developed jointly with LG and Samsung, but mass production will not begin earlier than in two years.

The first smartphones with updated screens may be the iPhone 17 Air line, and their release is expected no earlier than 2028. According to the resource, negotiations with display manufacturers have not yet been completed, but the companies are already working on the implementation of the project. Representatives of Samsung Display and LG Display declined to officially comment, only noting that they are not yet ready to confirm this information.
