Economic Feasibility: Why GTA VI Is Unlikely to Cost $100

Financial analyst Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics explained why Take-Two is unlikely to set a $100 price tag for the standard version of GTA VI. In his opinion, the company will focus on the availability of the main game in order to maximize the audience and increase long-term revenue from microtransactions in GTA Online. An impressive starting price tag can alienate a significant portion of users, especially in the context of a global increase in the cost of living, which will lead to the preservation of part of the community in GTA V Online and the loss of potential profits.

Elliott suggests that T2 will choose a differentiated approach to pricing: the standard edition will remain within the usual $70-80, while expanded versions with additional content can reach $120. Such a strategic move will satisfy both the mass consumer and the premium audience willing to pay for exclusive bonuses. The final decision will be known only in 2025 - according to the latest data, the release of GTA VI may shift from spring to autumn.
