Steam Deck 2 May Not Release Until 2028 According to Insiders

According to the authoritative source Kepler_L2, the next generation of Valve's portable console, Steam Deck 2, is not expected until 2028. Previously, the company's engineers have repeatedly emphasized that they do not plan to release a slightly updated version of the current model, but are waiting for a significant technological breakthrough that will allow them to combine increased performance with acceptable battery life.

At the beginning of the year, AMD announced a line of Ryzen Z2 processors specifically designed for portable gaming devices, and mentioned the possible use in a new version of Steam Deck.
