Rockstar Removes Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App From Digital Stores
Rockstar Games has unexpectedly removed the official RDR 2 companion app from the App Store and Google Play, sparking heated speculation in the gaming community. The mobile client, which functioned as a second screen, provided access to the game's interactive map, character statistics, and protagonist Arthur Morgan's diary. There was no official explanation from the developer, which fueled rumors that an updated version of the game might be in the works.

Insider sources have been spreading information since June about an upcoming remaster or improved version for next-gen consoles, as the current version of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S runs via backward compatibility without any special optimizations. The removal of the companion app, which is closely integrated with the gameplay, may indicate a technical update to the project's infrastructure. Red Dead Redemption 2 currently remains available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with limited functionality on the new consoles.
