IO Interactive Shows 36 Minutes of 007: First Light Gameplay and Reveals Release Date
At the recent State of Play event, hosted by Sony and IO Interactive, the gameplay of the spy action game 007: First Light was presented in detail for the first time. The broadcast showed viewers how James Bond infiltrates a guarded estate, uses a car for a spectacular chase, and then engages in a large-scale shootout reminiscent of the intense scenes from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. The finale of the demonstration was a series of hand-to-hand fights, during which the melee system and its mechanics were revealed.
Despite the impressive set of features, the debut was accompanied by noticeable technical problems. On PlayStation 5, the game suffered from unstable frame rates: in a number of scenes, the frame rate dropped to too low values, which immediately made it clear that the title will need serious optimization.

IOI nevertheless confirmed the exact release date. 007: First Light will be available on March 27, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. Following the end of State of Play, the developers opened pre-orders.
