Insomniac Games' Venom May Have Been Cancelled After Leak

Insomniac Games, known for the Spider-Man series, was developing a standalone project about Venom, but it will probably never see the light of day. According to insider That REDACTED Guy, the title was conceived as a compact spin-off, similar in scale to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and was supposed to occupy a window between the studio's large projects.

The development had already made significant progress: the combat system was ready, the movement mechanics were finalized, the plot was worked out, and motion capture with voice acting was recorded with the participation of Tony Todd, who was intended to play Venom. However, after a major leak of data from Insomniac Games, the title was apparently closed. As a result, the studio could have pushed the release back at the final stage, focusing on other games, including the upcoming Wolverine.
