EA has removed fully destructible buildings from Battlefield 6 for the sake of balance.

Battlefield 6 Lead Producer David Sirland explained that the Battle Royale mode will feature the same environmental destruction system as the main multiplayer modes. He explained that structures will be destructible based on the materials used, but they won't completely disappear—shelling and explosions will leave behind debris, the volume of which depends on the structure. This approach allows for spectacular destruction while maintaining the readability of battles and balance.

Sirland emphasized that the idea of complete destructibility proved unsuccessful, so the team focused on a more sophisticated system. He noted that the developers' goal was to make the destruction as visually impressive as possible without turning the battlefield into chaos.

Following the open beta test, the developers made additional changes: the damage level of buildings now more accurately reflects the materials used, and the strength of explosions—for example, from rockets or C4—directly depends on the type of structure being hit.
