CD Projekt has delayed mods for The Witcher 3 on consoles until 2026.
The studio announced a delay in a major update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was supposed to add support for user-made mods on consoles. The release was originally planned for late 2025, but is now no earlier than 2026.
The developers did not disclose the reasons for the delay. It is only known that the system will operate through the mod.io service, and mods on consoles will undergo stricter moderation than on the PC version.

While the mod support issue remains open, CD Projekt's core team is focused on developing a new installment in the franchise, tentatively titled Polaris. The developers previously clarified that the project will include elements based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski. Analysts predict the game's release will likely not take place before 2027.
