Painkiller Returns: Trailer Released for Co-op Reboot of the Iconic Action

Although People Can Fly long ago abandoned Painkiller, the series lives on through the efforts of other studios. Now the brand has found its way to Anshar Studios, which has unveiled a new trailer for the reboot of the mystical shooter. The video, titled "Slay Together," emphasizes co-op: players will team up to fight hordes of demons, and if companions are unavailable, bots will join them.

Judging by the footage, the new Painkiller's gameplay is extremely simple and built on endless action—run and gun to a vibrant soundtrack. To add a touch of competition, the developers have implemented a ranking system that awards points for eliminating enemies.

The updated Painkiller will be released on October 21st. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
