Battlefield 6 sets series sales record

The launch of Battlefield 6 proved a triumph for Electronic Arts, with the game posting its best opening ever for the franchise. According to Alinea Analytics, the shooter sold approximately 6.5 million copies in the first few days after its release, generating over $350 million in revenue for the publisher.

This figure set an all-time high for the series and brought Battlefield close to the success of Call of Duty. By comparison, the previous leader, Battlefield 3, sold five million copies in its first week of release.

An interesting detail was the distribution of sales by platform. PC users accounted for the largest share of the audience, with Steam accounting for approximately 66% of all copies. PlayStation 5 came in second with 23.7%, and Xbox Series X rounded out the top three with a share of approximately 19.6%.
