No more solo players. Insider reveals limitations of Battlefield 6's battle royale mode

According to ModernWarzone, the upcoming Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6 will only be playable in teams of two or four at launch. The ability to participate in matches with other squads will be added later, but the developers have not yet specified when exactly this will happen.

This news has sparked discontent among players, with many viewing the lack of a solo format as a serious mistake. Users noted that they would like to be able to play solo, and that the restriction to team matches is discouraging interest in the project. Comments have already surfaced, complaining that the mode could lose some of its audience due to this decision.

It was previously reported that up to 100 players would be able to participate in battles, and the battle royale mode itself would be free-to-play. Rumors suggest the new mode will be called Battlefield: RedSec, and its release will take place on October 28, 2025—the same date cited by renowned insider Tom Henderson. The first season of Battlefield 6 also kicks off on this day, adding new maps, weapons, and content to the game.
