Take-Two CEO explains why artificial intelligence can't create a game like GTA 6

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated in an interview with CNBC that artificial intelligence cannot develop a project the scale of Grand Theft Auto 6. According to him, there are at least two reasons why such a scenario is impossible.

Zelnick noted that the use of neural networks in the gaming industry is limited primarily due to intellectual property protection issues. The use of generative technologies threatens copyright, as it makes it impossible to guarantee the originality of content and legally confirm ownership.

The second reason, according to the Take-Two executive, lies in the very nature of artificial intelligence. Machine learning technologies are based on the analysis and reproduction of existing data, which precludes the possibility of a truly creative process. Zelnick emphasized that the creativity of the Rockstar Games team and its commitment to excellence fundamentally distinguish human work from a machine approach. According to him, neural networks can only replicate known models but are incapable of creating something truly original or creating worlds with the depth and detail of GTA 6.
