GTA 6 publisher calls new release date "perfect window" for the game's release
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on the latest delay of Grand Theft Auto 6, which has been moved from May 26 to November 19, 2026. In an interview with The Game Business, he stated that the company is fully confident in the updated date and believes it is optimal for the launch.
According to Zelnick, the decision to delay the game was driven by Rockstar's desire to polish the game. He emphasized that the studio has gained additional time to present the highest-quality product to the public. The executive also noted that the release will take place within the same fiscal year, and the new date is "an excellent launch window" for such a large-scale project.

However, Take-Two's CEO does not believe the May date was announced prematurely. He believes that early announcements are necessary for the timely launch of a marketing campaign, which helps build confidence in the upcoming release.
Speaking to IGN, Zelnick added that the studio prefers not to repeat the mistakes of other developers who launched unfinished projects. He emphasized that the additional months of development will be put to good use to ensure GTA 6 meets audience expectations and Rockstar Games' standards.
