A Switch 2 emulator might not appear for at least ten years
Developers warn that creating a full-fledged emulator for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console could take up to ten years. Unlike the first model, for which Yuzu and Ryujinx appeared a year after its release, similar solutions for the Switch 2 are not expected in the near future—the pirate scene is developing much more slowly, and the console itself is much more secure.

Updates for two early projects, Oboromi and Pound, which are in the very early stages of development, have appeared on GitHub. Pound's description explicitly states that it will take at least ten years for the project to be fully capable of running games. Oboromi's creator also noted that work is currently underway on the emulator's basic architecture, but it is too early to talk about ROM compatibility.
While the ten-year timeframe may be an exaggeration, experts note that given Nintendo's aggressive policy against piracy and previous experience with emulators for the original Switch, the appearance of working versions for the Switch 2 in the foreseeable future appears extremely unlikely.
