A real exoskeleton is being created based on Death Stranding—it will allow you to walk like Norman Reedus' character
Hideo Kojima continues to surprise with unusual partnerships. This time, his studio Kojima Productions has teamed up with Dnsys, a company specializing in exoskeleton production, to release a Death Stranding-inspired device.
The new model is called the Z1 Exoskeleton Pro, and its appearance was created by Yoji Shinkawa, Kojima's frequent artist and collaborator, whose work defines the visual style of the studio's games. The exoskeleton's color scheme and design directly reference the world of Death Stranding, where heroes carrying heavy loads traverse difficult terrain.

But unlike the in-game prototype, the device has a practical purpose. The exoskeleton helps people with walking difficulties by reducing stress on the knees and redistributing weight. The developers claim that the wearer will feel approximately 20 kilograms lighter while moving, and the built-in intelligent system adapts the support to uneven surfaces and stairs. The battery lasts for four hours, and the batteries are quickly swappable.
The limited edition Z1 Exoskeleton Pro will go on sale on December 2, but pricing has not yet been announced. Considering the base version is priced at around $1,500, the gaming model is expected to be slightly more expensive.
