Horizon Steel Frontiers, a full-fledged MMORPG set in the Horizon universe, has been announced
Long-standing rumors about a Korean MMORPG based on the Horizon universe have finally been confirmed. The project, officially titled Horizon Steel Frontiers, will be a standalone interpretation of the world familiar from the Guerrilla Games series.
Players will be transported to a region called the Deadlands, located somewhere between Arizona and New Mexico. Here, they will have to survive among primitive tribes armed with high-tech devices and enormous mechanical creatures that continue to dominate the wilderness. The confrontation between humans and these beast-like machines will be the central theme of the new project.
The creators assure that they will strive to retain the spirit of the hunt characteristic of Horizon, although the first trailer shows a much more dynamic and fantasy-like combat, where the heroine brandishes a massive blade while battling a giant metal beast. In addition to PvE content, the developers are preparing raids, PvP skirmishes, a guild system, and deep character customization—standard features for the MMORPG genre.
Horizon Steel Frontiers will be released on PC and mobile devices. There's no exact release date yet, but according to NCSoft's financial report, the project is expected to launch either in 2026 or early 2027.
