EA Sports has delayed the next installment of F1 and will replace it with a major DLC for F1 25

The F1 series will not receive another numbered installment in 2026: EA Sports announced that instead of a full-fledged game, it will release a large paid DLC for F1 25. It will include racing cars, teams, drivers, and technical regulations for the 2026 season, updating the title to reflect the real-world changes in the championship.

A new installment in the racing franchise is now expected only in 2027. According to the publisher, the project will be a reimagined continuation of the series and offer more features, including completely new mechanics and a different approach to gameplay.

The decision to move away from annual releases follows the controversial release of F1 25, which was supposed to be the final one under the current contract, although EA had the option to extend the agreement for another two years.

Information about the price and exact release date of the F1 25 expansion will be announced later next year.
