Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake could be released as early as January 2026
Journalist and insider Tom Henderson revealed that the updated version of the action-adventure game, which underwent a long and difficult development, could be released on January 16, 2026. According to him, the exact date will be announced at the TGA 2025 event, where Ubisoft plans to unveil the game to the general public in its new form.
The company previously stated in its financial report that the remake's release was expected by March 31, 2026. As early as mid-2024, it was reported that an internal "minor version" of the project had already been completed, indicating the transition to the next stage of production.
The remake was unveiled in 2020 and was initially scheduled for release the following year. However, following criticism and internal difficulties, the release was repeatedly delayed, and then the decision was made to restart development entirely. The title is now being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, along with teams from Toronto, Bucharest, Paris, and Pune, who are helping to bring the project up to par and meet the expectations of fans of the original.
