The director of "The Boys," "Fallout," and "Shogun" will helm the first episodes of the God of War series
Active pre-production has begun on a TV series based on the God of War video game franchise. The project's debut two episodes will be directed by Frederic Toye, known for his work on such successful series as The Boys, Fallout, and the Emmy Award-winning Shogun. His involvement demonstrates the ambitious level of the adaptation and matches the scope of the original two-season order. Filming will take place in Vancouver, confirming the studios' commitment.

The project is being developed jointly by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures, with Cory Barlog, the director of the live-action reboot, retaining partial creative control as one of the executive producers.
