Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be temporarily free for all players
Activision announced a limited-time free access to the shooter, scheduled for next week, with specific dates to be confirmed after December 15th. As part of the promotion, gamers will be able to gain full access to multiplayer modes and the co-op zombie campaign, as well as a double XP bonus for all activities. According to the publisher, this will allow users to evaluate the game for themselves, forming an opinion based on their own experience rather than on reviews from others.

At the same time, Activision announced a change in its franchise development strategy, abandoning the practice of releasing multiple installments within a single sub-franchise, such as Modern Warfare and Black Ops. The new approach aims to provide unique gaming experiences each year, which should diversify the offering and reduce player fatigue. Black Ops 7, released on November 14th, 2025, received lukewarm reviews from critics and negative user reviews, reflected in its Metacritic scores: 67/100 from experts and 1.6/10 from the community.
