A major GTA Online update added luxury mansions and brought back Michael de Santa
Rockstar Games has released a major update, "A Safehouse in the Hills", for GTA Online, introducing a premium real estate market in the most prestigious neighborhoods of Los Santos. Players can now purchase luxurious mansions with extensive customization options, including AI concierge systems, themed storefronts, pet areas, and private salons. Each residence comes complete with a multi-level garage with advanced lighting and a specialized auto repair shop.
A key plot element of the update is the return of Michael de Santa from the original Grand Theft Auto V campaign, who, along with his wife, Amanda, now runs a luxury real estate business and guides players through the purchase of their first mansion. Real estate also offers practical benefits, such as accelerating the production of illegal goods and the ability to hire private security.
A new adventure has also been added, challenging players to combat the development of a mass surveillance system, earning exclusive vehicles as a reward. A key addition is the expanded mission editor, allowing you to create custom missions with custom mechanics, objectives, and character placement. The update is now available on all platforms, including previous and current-gen consoles.
