Terminator: Survivors was sent into long-term development and lost its co-op feature
Development of Terminator: Survivors continues, but a release is not expected anytime soon. Nacon Studio Milan has shared the project's status for the first time in a while, admitting that the team had to reassess key elements of the game and its release timeline.
According to creative director Marco Ponte, work on the project has been nonstop, but internal playtests and discussions with fans of the universe led to an important decision. The developers have completely abandoned co-op mode, focusing exclusively on single-player play. This move is explained by a desire to preserve the atmosphere and sense of survival, which the developers believe works best in a single-player format, even if this may disappoint some audiences.

The changes also affected the release plans. The team decided to forgo Early Access so that players could experience Terminator: Survivors in its full form immediately. As a result, the project will not be released in 2025, and a new release date has not yet been determined and will be announced later when the developers are confident in the final product.
At the same time, the studio doesn't intend to completely shut itself off from the community. Closer to the end of production, several closed testing sessions are planned under a non-disclosure agreement, which will be open to fans willing to help improve the game.
Rumors about delaying Terminator: Survivors to 2026 have been circulating before, and the current news only confirms that development is proceeding with difficulty. The project was originally scheduled for release in 2024, so the current delay is not the first for this project in the Terminator universe.
