007 First Light delayed until May – IO Interactive takes a break for polishing

The spy action thriller 007 First Light will not be released as planned and will be delayed by almost two months. Instead of the end of March, the release is now scheduled for May 27, 2026. The title will launch simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, where it will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store.

IO Interactive explained this change as a necessary optimization. Development has already reached a stage where the game can be played from start to finish, but the developers needed more time to improve the technical condition and refine the gameplay before launch. The company hopes this pause will allow them to release the highest quality version possible and ensure the game's long-term success after release.

The developers also noted that the title is the largest project in the studio's history. The studio plans to share new details about the spy action game in early 2026.
