Halo: Campaign Evolved will be the first game in the series on PlayStation 5
Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries, is developing Halo: Campaign Evolved with the goal of reviving the iconic franchise for a new generation. According to executive producer Damon Conn and creative director Max Shlagor, the game aims to unite veteran fans of the franchise, who grew up with the adventures of Master Chief, with audiences who have never experienced this universe before. A key strategic decision will be the game's release on the PlayStation 5 platform, making it available to Sony console owners for the first time in the series' history.

The project completely forgoes competitive multiplayer modes, focusing exclusively on the story campaign, which can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players. The remake is being built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5, with a completely reimagined visual and audio design. In addition to updated versions of classic missions from the original 2001 game, the developers will add three new missions that tell the story of events preceding the main plot and showcase the joint operations of Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson.
The exact release date for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S is still unknown, but the studio emphasizes its commitment to the title as a fundamental reboot of the franchise, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
