Sophie Turner has promised a new interpretation of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series

The actress discussed her vision of the protagonist in the upcoming Tomb Raider series and emphasized that the character's portrayal will be significantly different from traditional interpretations. According to the actress, the story will shift the focus from the character's outward appeal to her inner world, past, and motivations. Turner intends to portray Lara as a strong and independent individual, for whom abilities and character are more important than the sexualized image audiences are accustomed to from games and films.

Turner also previously shared that preparing for the role was physically grueling. During the training, which lasted for about a year and took up most of the day, Turner sustained a back injury, which only underscores the seriousness of her approach to the role and her desire to embody the image of a resilient and combat-ready heroine.
