A "Call of Duty killer" has been unveiled in China: A new trailer for the shooter The Defiant has been released
Chinese studio 4Divinity has once again made a name for itself with a new trailer for the shooter The Defiant. The project is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and transports players to China during World War II, focusing on the resistance against the Japanese invasion. The developers are emphasizing large-scale staged scenes and a cinematic presentation, which already looks impressive in the trailer and evokes comparisons with major Western series.
The developers emphasize that the story campaign aims to reimagine the traditional view of historical events in first-person shooters. The story will be told from a perspective rarely represented in video games, and players will explore captured villages, enemy cities, snowy forests, and other enemy-controlled regions. The environments are promised to be varied and rich in detail to emphasize the wartime atmosphere.

The Defiant does not yet have a firm release date, but the project is already available for wishlisting on Steam. Judging by the studio's activity and the new trailer, development is progressing, and interest in the potential Call of Duty competitor continues to grow.
