Ubisoft fired an Assassin's Creed designer over office work policy disagreements.
French publisher Ubisoft has fired designer David Michaud-Cromp, who has 13 years of experience at Ubisoft Montreal and worked on projects such as Assassin's Creed Unity and Watch Dogs: Legion. The employee himself posted the news of his dismissal on his LinkedIn page, where he confirmed that the decision came from company management and was not his own initiative. Ubisoft representatives declined to comment, citing their internal code of ethics and corporate policies.
The dismissal likely stemmed from disagreements over mandatory five-day office hours, which Michaud-Cromp had publicly criticized shortly before the incident. On January 29, the designer was temporarily suspended for several days, heralding his permanent termination.
