Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition Launches with Critical Bug and Controversial Support

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic platformer Rayman, Ubisoft released a special edition remaster of the original 1995 game. Titled Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition, the collection was released on all current platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. The project was developed by Digital Eclipse, known for its similar retro compilations, Disney Afternoon Collection and TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection.

The edition includes five versions of the classic game—versions for the Atari Jaguar, PlayStation, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and MS-DOS. Additionally, the collection features 124 additional bonus levels and an extensive collection of fan materials dedicated to the history of the series' creation and development.

However, the joy of this long-awaited remaster was marred by a serious technical issue. Almost immediately after release, players discovered a bug preventing game progress from being saved. Contacting support led to an unexpected response: the company stated that the developers were aware of the issue, but had no plans to fix it, as the product's official support period had already ended.

Later, another Ubisoft representative quickly refuted this statement, attributing the issue to a mix-up with other Rayman titles. According to a new clarification, a fix for the critical error will still be released soon, and the save game issue will be resolved. However, the incident has already sparked a wave of discontent among longtime fans of the series.
