Fans are bringing GTA: Vice City Stories to PC for the series' 20th anniversary
The enthusiast team at White Trash Games has unveiled a trailer for the ambitious Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories 20th Anniversary Edition, which aims to create a full-fledged, unofficial port of the iconic game for personal computers. The original GTA Vice City Stories was released exclusively for the PlayStation Portable in 2006, and a year later received a PlayStation 2 adaptation, but a PC version never saw the light of day.
The developers explained that they took on this task to correct a historical injustice and introduce a new generation of gamers to the storyline set in neon-lit Vice City two years before the events of the original Vice City. For series veterans, this is an opportunity to re-immerse themselves in the familiar atmosphere, but on a platform that has become their primary platform. The trailer, accompanied by Russian subtitles, showcases gameplay footage, demonstrating significant progress on the port.
The project is currently in active development, and the creators encourage the community to stay tuned, promising to share updates regularly. A release is planned for this year, although a precise date has not yet been announced.
