Capcom is preparing a story-driven DLC about Leon and a remake of the first Resident Evil

Insider Dusk Golem, known for his reliable leaks about the Resident Evil universe, shared a new batch of information about Capcom's upcoming plans. According to him, the Japanese publisher is actively working on several projects that should delight fans of the cult horror series.

First and foremost, this concerns a story-driven expansion for the recently released Resident Evil Requiem. The DLC is in the late stages of development, and will star the legendary Leon Kennedy, who previously appeared in the new game. Furthermore, the insider speculates that there may be a bonus mode featuring Alyssa Ashcroft, the mother of Grace from Requiem, well-known to fans from the Resident Evil Outbreak duology.

In addition to the expansion for the new game, Capcom is reportedly in production on a remake of the original Resident Evil, released back in 1996. Details on the project are still scarce, but given the success of the reimaginings of the second, third, and fourth installments, expectations for this return to the roots are high. The company also plans to remake Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero.

Resident Evil Requiem launched on February 27, 2026, and has already won over critics and players, returning the action to the sinister Raccoon City.
