An old video of potential GTA VI gameplay, filmed four years ago, has leaked online
An anonymous user posted a short video, which they claim was filmed over four years ago and shows a fragment from the development of Grand Theft Auto VI. The author claims to have been shown the video by a friend who worked at Rockstar Games during the coronavirus pandemic. The employee allegedly wanted to share a clip they were proud of.

The low-quality footage, compressed for emailing, shows a small bridge, and a highway with moving cars can be discerned in the distance. A truck, clearly modeled after Grand Theft Auto V, caught the eye. If the video is authentic, this is understandable: using existing assets in the early stages of production is common practice in the gaming industry.
The author admitted to accidentally stumbling upon the video while clearing his smartphone's memory. Notably, the video was filmed approximately two months before the massive September 2022 leak, which saw dozens of gameplay clips appear online. For a long time, he was wary of publishing the recording because of the possible consequences for a developer he knew, but the developer recently left Rockstar Games, and the threat of violating his non-disclosure agreement disappeared.
