The creators of the disastrous MindsEye, from the creators of GTA, have again blamed spies for the failure and fired a new group of employees
Build a Rocket Boy, the studio behind the action game MindsEye, one of the biggest disappointments of 2025, has once again found itself at the center of a scandal. The company's management announced a new round of layoffs, citing the results of an internal investigation that uncovered organized espionage and corporate sabotage within the team.
Studio CEO Mark Gerhard issued a statement emphasizing that the layoffs were a painful but necessary decision. He stated that the investigation, involving outside lawyers and external partners, took several months but ultimately confirmed criminal activity aimed at disrupting the release of MindsEye. Management insists that these factors, rather than typical production difficulties, led to the project's failure.

MindsEye launched in June of last year and was an immediate failure, receiving scathing reviews from players and extremely low ratings from the press. Almost immediately afterward, the developers issued loud accusations against critics, alleging bribery of reviewers and sabotage by internal enemies.
Now, despite the previous personnel purges, the studio claims that "traitors" still remained on the team. The new wave of layoffs is intended to completely eradicate their influence. The gaming community, however, is skeptical of these claims, believing that the true cause of the failure lies in the quality of the product itself, not in mythical external forces.
