A modder has released a massive GTA: Carcer City modification inspired by Manhunt
An enthusiast using the pseudonym DeadpoolMKD has unveiled his large-scale fan project, GTA: Carcer City, based on the Vice City engine. The game features significant visual improvements over the original: more realistic shadows and high-quality reflections on car bodies significantly transform the visuals.
The developer's goal is to build the most detailed and polished metropolis of any 3D GTA title. The game takes place in the grim Carcer City, well-known to fans of the cult stealth game Manhunt. The story follows an ex-cop who is drawn into the criminal underworld of a dying metropolis. The city is going through difficult times: factories are being liquidated, infrastructure is crumbling, and criminal gangs are gradually taking over the streets.
According to the developer, the look of Carcer City is inspired by the industrial landscapes of Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. Players will explore abandoned businesses, dangerous dark alleys, and neon-lit bars desperately struggling to survive in a decaying atmosphere. Set in 2001, the story is thoroughly original, focusing on themes of corruption, gang warfare, and the struggle for survival.
DeadpoolMKD released a demo of the mod on March 9th. Remarkably, neither Take-Two nor Rockstar have yet filed any claims against the author for intellectual property infringement, raising hopes for a successful demo release.
