Intel will manufacture chipsets for Qualcomm using the 20A process technology. The direct creation and assembly of the products will be the responsibility of Intel Foundry Services (IFS), which is engaged in contract manufacturing for third parties as part of the previously announced strategic development program IDM 2.0. What specific devices will be produced for Qualcomm and how soon they will become available is unknown.
Together with Qualcomm, Amazon, or rather the AWS cloud service, has become an IFS client. The agreement between the companies implies the use of proprietary technologies for packaging Intel chipsets. In this case, the processors themselves will be supplied by a third-party manufacturer.
The famous processor designer plans to fully master 20A technology by 2024. This process marks the transition to the latest RibbonFET architecture and PowerVia interlayer technology.
