Huawei flagship smartphones announced with updated processor and new OS
Huawei is in full swing preparing for the release of the new flagship models of smartphones P50 and P50 Pro. For the first time, the brand's devices will be equipped with its own HarmonyOS operating system.

The development process for the new line was hampered by US sanctions against China. Because of this, the company had to postpone the launch of gadgets into production. The restrictions also led to the fact that the 5G communication support module had to be removed from the new smartphones.

US sanctions have also influenced the choice of the chipset for future flagships. So, not every model in the series has its own Kirin chip on board. The specs on the company's website say that all P50s, as well as some of the Pro units, are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. However, there is a professional version of the phone on the Kirin 9000. Another limitation was the ban on the use of Google services.

As for the characteristics of the devices, the regular version of the smartphone has a 6.5 "OLED display with a resolution of 1224p and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The device has 8 GB of RAM, and the maximum size of internal storage can reach 256 GB. The battery is responsible for providing energy. 4100 mAh, which supports fast charging with 66 W. The body of the smartphone is protected from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard. The main camera has a 50 megapixel module, as well as two additional lenses. "Front camera" for selfies has 13 megapixels.

The professional version has improved features. This model has a slightly larger display at 120Hz with a resolution of 1228p. The volume of the battery is also increased: here it is 4360 mAh. Charging can be done using a standard cable, as well as via 50W wireless charging. There are four camera modules here, in comparison with the younger model there is a monochrome lens.

Regular and Pro versions will cost from $ 695 and $ 927, respectively, for standard memory configurations. The release of smartphones is scheduled for August and September, while it will be possible to purchase the P50 Pro with a chip from Qualcomm only by the end of the year.
