Rumors: a standard QR code scanner will be added to Android 13
The vast majority of current Android smartphones are capable of scanning QR codes, but there is no single standard for this function. According to rumors, Google wants to implement such an option in Android 13, making it part of the stock firmware.

Rumors: a standard QR code scanner will be added to Android 13

According to the Android Police website, Android 13 devices will no longer need to use a camera or download third-party QR code recognition apps. Instead, the corresponding icon will appear on the quick access toolbar regardless of the brand and model of the device.

It is not yet clear whether the feature will be implemented as a standalone program or whether the tool will be implemented in Google Lens. It is assumed that the option will appear already in the fresh "beta" of the upcoming operating system.
