News portal Business Korea learned about the design features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4. It is connected to the fingerprint scanner.
According to the publication, Samsung intends to abandon the scanner under the display in the upcoming flagships Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4. Instead, it will be placed on the side of the body. According to Samsung, this arrangement will become more ergonomic for the owner of the device.
At the same time, the company filed a patent for the original design of a sub-screen double-sided scanner. Thanks to him, it will be possible to unlock the device, regardless of whether it is open or closed. When open, the sensor will be in the lower left corner, and when closed, in the lower part in the middle.
Both devices with a folding display are expected to be introduced in the 3rd quarter of this year. The first such device with a sub-screen fingerprint scanner on the market will be Vivo X Gold, which is scheduled to be presented on April 11.
