A Chinese company specializing in the production of TVs has introduced a new type of touch screens. The manufacturer declares a weighty list of advantages of this technology for the end user.
At the moment there are two types of touch displays: On-Cell and In-Cell. The first type involves the placement of a touch layer on the surface of the screen. This solution looks heavy and does not have high accuracy. The second type, due to the introduction of the touch layer directly into the screen, offers an improved response and a smaller display thickness.
The technology developed by TCL is called In-Cell HVA. Its feature is the placement of the touch layer directly into the screen matrix. Among the advantages of the technology are the favorable manufacturing cost, high accuracy of touch response, and the ability to interact even with wet fingers. In addition, the LargeTouch Display Integration (LTDI) chip integrates the screen and the touch panel, resulting in lower power consumption.
The manufacturer claims that In-Cell HVA does not require the modernization of existing production lines and is a turnkey solution for new laptops and other devices with touch displays.
