Nothing's CEO doesn't think updates are very important

Nothing Phone (1) was released in July, and a number of patches with bug fixes and new functionality are already available for it. But some users are wondering when the smartphone will receive Android 13. Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, expressed his opinion on this issue.



In his Twitter in response to a question from one of the users. Pei responded that the product is more than its specs, features, and OS version numbers.

The release of Android 13 took place last week. Some smartphone manufacturers are already testing the OS and preparing it for release on their devices. Nothing has yet made statements on this score. It is not clear how long it will take the company to test and release Android 13 on its so far only device. In theory, if desired, this can be done quickly enough, since the shell of the device practically does not differ from the stock one, and the number of third-party applications is minimal.

Before the release of Nothing Phone (1), it was announced that the smartphone will receive operating system updates for three years, while security updates will arrive on it for four years.
