Google Tensor G2 is the "heart" of the new Pixel 7 and 7 Pro smartphones. After the presentation of the devices, they managed to check it in performance tests. It outperformed its predecessor, but compared to two-year-old chipsets from other manufacturers, it proved to be average.
Above are the test results. According to them, we can judge that the Tensor G2 chip outperformed its predecessor in the face of G1 by 8 points in multi-core mode, and by 2% in single-core mode. The architecture is similar to its predecessor, but the developers increased the frequency of the A76 cores by 100 MHz (total 2.35 GHz), and the X1 cores by 50 MHz (total 2.85 GHz). The process technology has also decreased from 5 to 4 nm.
