A Google technical support document has been posted on the Internet. From it you can find out about the deadlines for updating the software of the first smartwatch of the brand. Interestingly, the security update cycle of the device is shorter than that of smartphones, and the release period for fresh versions of the operating system is entirely consistent with that of a smartphone.
The documentation was posted by the 9to5Google portal. It says that the terms for receiving updates will start from the time the watch hits the shelves and is valid for three years - until October 2025. The document does not say anything about the timing of smartphone updates, but before that it became known that it was equal to five years. At the same time, OS updates will last only three years, and in the remaining time, only security updates will be released for smartphones.
Pre-orders for the Google Pixel Watch and the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro smartphones went live on October 6th. Already on October 13, the first users will be able to get devices and try them out.
