There will be no Splinter Cell movie
The main character of the stealth action franchise was supposed to be played by the star of Mad Max and Venom.

Producer Basil Iwanyk (John Wick) spoke about the halt in production. The development of the project began in 2005, and over almost 20 years, many script options were considered and various budgets that could have been used for production were considered, but a consensus was never found.

Sam Fisher in the film adaptation of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell was supposed to be played by the famous British actor Tom Hardy. At different times, such suppliers as Peter Berg (Battleship, Lone Survivor) and Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow) were sent to the director's chair. The plot of the film would have told about the agent's young years.

At the same time, the animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch will soon be released on small screens. The script for the project was handled by Derek Kolstad, responsible for the first three parts of John Wick. According to the plot, the main character will be older than in the games. Fischer will be voiced by actor Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan, X-Men Origins: Wolverine).
